Outdoor Report with Julie Geiser as she prepares Nebraska for the Firearm Deer season

Ogallala, Neb - The water is warm at Lake McConaughy north of Ogallala.  The beaches are beautiful, and  beginning September 11, reservation season is over for the year. All beach and campground camping will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Stop at the Visitors Center to pay camping fees or use the self-pay stations. See <a href="https://ilovelakemac.com/">www.ilovelakemac.com</a> for hotels, cabins, campgrounds, restaurants, events and more! 

AVAILABLE BOAT RAMPS: Martin Bay Low Water (near the base of the dam) • Divers Bay/Burma Road • Lake Ogallala (2) (Lake Ogallala will close to the public for a month beginning Sept 22 for the planned renovation of the fishery.) 

Lake Mac elevation is 3,229.1 ft or 858,100ac-ft (49.2% capacity)

FISHING opportunities continue into fall as anglers slab for walleye and white bass.  Catfish can be caught year-round, especially at the west end of the lake.
