Tauni the Co-Coordinator with Community Build Playground came in and chatted a little about the upcoming dates for the build that will be going on in Centennial Park. You can hear here below as well as read the official press release.&nbsp;

<i>Those wishing to add their name, or the name of a loved one, to the North Platte Community Build Playground have until August 2 to purchase memorial bricks and personalized fence pickets.</i>

<i>“We are moving into the building phase, which means we are approaching a fundraising deadline quickly with our pickets and bricks,” said Tauni Morris, Community Build Playground Co-Coordinator. “Now we want to make sure that people don’t miss out on this opportunity!”</i>

<i>The playground is scheduled to be built by community volunteers September 15 – 19, 2021.</i>

<i>“The only reason we have been able to set those build dates is because North Platte is an extremely generous community,” added Morris.</i>

<i>The tax-deductible 4” X 8” engraved bricks, which will become part of the playground’s walkway, are available for a minimum $125 donation. Engraving on the bricks features three lines: “In Memory of” is included on the first line, the name of the person that the donor wishes to recognize is on the second line and the third line is available for the relationship to that person (for example: mother, daughter, father, son, friend, etc.).</i>

<i>The customizable, tax-deductible pickets, available for a minimum $50 per picket donation, will build the fence that will line the future playground at Centennial Park.</i>

<i>Interested parties can obtain a donation form and pay online through webuildNP.org. Those wishing to obtain a donation form in-person can do so at Great Plains Realty or Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation in North Platte.</i>

Post Podcast: Forged in Steel comes to the Prairie Arts Center

The Ogallala baseball association is working with Keith County to try to raise some funds to make improvements to their baseball facilities. They are hoping to raise enough to get some shade for fans, a secondary batting cage for visiting teams and a new advanced batting cage for the Ogallala team.&nbsp;
