Head coach Will Bolt announced the 2024 baseball schedule Wednesday, which features 27 home games at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park for the Huskers.

“We are really excited about the 2024 season and slate of games on the schedule,” Bolt said. “The Big Ten continues to improve every year and our non-conference matchups will help us get ready for league play. I’m looking forward to our home schedule this year and can’t wait to play in front of our great fans at Hawks Field in six months.”

The 2024 slate includes five 2023 NCAA Tournament participants in Big Ten regular-season and tournament champion Maryland, Southland Conference regular-season and tournament champion Nicholls and at-large selections Indiana, Iowa and Texas Tech.

The Huskers begin the 56-game campaign in one of college baseball’s premier events at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown (Feb. 16-18) at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Nebraska opens the season against Baylor, before taking on Texas Tech and Oklahoma.

The following two weekends, Nebraska treks to Phoenix and Charleston, S.C., for consecutive four-game series at Grand Canyon (Feb. 22-25) and College of Charleston (Feb. 29-Mar. 3).

NU gets an early jump on its home slate and plays 11 of its next 13 games at Hawks Field. The Huskers open the home schedule with a three-game series against South Alabama (March 8-10). After a quick trip to Wichita for a pair of midweek games at Wichita State (March 12-13), the Big Red return home for an eight-game homestand.

The Huskers begin the homestand with a three-game set against Nicholls (March 15-17) before midweek visits from Omaha (March 19) and North Dakota State (March 20). NU wraps up non-conference action before league play by hosting New Mexico State (March 22-24) and traveling to K-State (March 26).

Nebraska opens Big Ten play on the road at Northwestern (March 28-30) before a midweek visit to Creighton (April 2) and a home series with Ohio State (April 5-7).

The Big Red visit Kansas (April 9) and make the trip to Rutgers (April 12-14), followed by a stretch of eight consecutive home games beginning with Creighton (April 16).

NU welcomes Maryland (April 19-21) to Hawks Field and takes on Kansas (April 23) in a midweek return visit before wrapping up the homestand with Iowa (April 26-28).

The Huskers step out of Big Ten action with midweek contests at Creighton (April 30) and against K-State (May 1) in Lincoln, followed by a trip to Minnesota (May 3-5).

Nebraska hosts South Dakota State (May 8) and concludes the regular-season slate with a home series against Indiana (May 10-12) and a visit to Michigan State (May 16-18) in the final weekend of Big Ten play.&nbsp;

Charles Schwab Field in Omaha will be the setting for the Big Ten Tournament for the seventh time, having previously been the site in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023. The 2024 event runs May 21-26, and the tournament champion advances to the NCAA Tournament with the league’s automatic bid.

North Platte Community College men's golf team returned to the links for the Pinnacle Bank Raider Invitational on Tuesday. The Knights finished eighth amongst eleven teams at the Elks Country Club in Columbus.

David Winkelmann&nbsp;improved upon his best collegiate round, shooting a 79 on the day.&nbsp;Jayden Jones&nbsp;shot eight over through 18 holes, while&nbsp;Cole Kramer&nbsp;rounded out the top three for North Platte with a round of 83.

Taytom Timbers,&nbsp;Caeson Clarke&nbsp;and&nbsp;Treyten York&nbsp;concluded the 18-hole tournament by finishing in the top 50 amongst collegiate players.

Knights will return to the links in Council Bluffs, Iowa for the two-day Bent Tree Classic beginning on Sept. 25.

Hamish Murray earned the first top-10 finish of his Husker career by tying for ninth individually at 211 (-2) to lead the Nebraska men's golf team at the Bearcat Invitational on Tuesday.

Murray, a junior transfer from Sydney, Australia by way of NCAA Division II Cameron (Okla.) University, closed his first tournament for the Big Red with a final-round 73 (+2) on the par-71, 7,279-yard layout at the Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati. Murray's score over the final 18 holes followed back-to-back rounds of 69 (-2) on Monday for the Huskers.

Harry Crockett, a junior from Oxted, England, carded Nebraska's best round on Tuesday with a 72 (+1) to tie for 30th at 216 (+3) in the 90-player field in Cincinnati.

Senior Reed Malleck (York, Neb.) tied for 40th at 218 (+5), while fellow senior Gentry Scheve matched Malleck's final-round 75 on Tuesday to complete Nebraska's team score. Scheve (Emporia, Kan.) finished 71st at 224 (+11), while fifth-year senior Will Marshall tied for 67th at 223 (+10), including a final-round 76.

Nebraska slipped to 11th in the tight team standings at 865 (+13) with a final-round 295. The Huskers finished just two shots back of Virginia Tech and Little Rock (863) in a tie for eighth and one stroke behind Southern Miss (864) in 10th.&nbsp;

Chattanooga produced Tuesday's best team round with a 279 (-5) to pull away for the team championship with a three-round score of 838 (-14). The Mocs defeated Louisville by eight strokes (846), while BYU finished third at 849 (-3). The hosts from Cincinnati took fourth at 852 (E).

Louisville's Sebastian Moss claimed medalist honors with a three-round total of 201 (-12) that included a sizzling final-round 65 (-6). Cincinnati's Connor McNeely took second at 205 (-8), while Chattanooga's Paul Conroy finished third at 206 (-7).

Nebraska returns to action at the Badger Invitational in Wisconsin (Oct. 1-3).

Murray takes Top 10 in Cincinnati

The Tri-City Storm is set to open the 2023-2024 Regular Season tonight at the DICK’S Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic. The Storm will battle the defending Clark Cup Champion Youngstown Phantoms on FedEx Rink #1 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. The Storm will also play Western Conference foe Sioux Falls Stampede tomorrow night at 7:30pm CT in the team’s second, and final, game of the event. Puck drop for tonight’s battle between the Storm and the Phantoms is scheduled for 6:30pm CT.

Tri-City (0-0-0-0) travels to Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania for tonight’s opening game of the season following a 3-2-0-0 record during the five-game exhibition schedule. Scoring leaders for Tri-City during the preseason included Cameron Briere (3), Nick Peluso (2), Carmelo Crandell (2), Nolan Roed (2), and Dallas Vieau (2). The Storm’s 2022-2023 season ended following a conference semifinal exit in the 2023 Clark Cup Playoffs. The Storm secured the 4th&nbsp;seed in the Western Conference side of the postseason bracket after compiling a regular season record of 34-20-4-4. Tri-City’s powerplay ranked 8th&nbsp;in the league last season with a conversion rate of 20.9%. The Storm’s penalty kill finished the regular season 9th&nbsp;in the USHL with a success rate of 78.4%.

Youngstown (0-0-0-0) opens the regular season tonight after posting a 1-2-0-1 in four games played during the preseason. Goal scorers for the Phantoms during the exhibition schedule were Andrew Strathmann (2), Finn McLaughlin (2), Adam Pietila, Ryan Botterill, Ryan Shaw, Artyom Shchipanov, Michael Burchill, Charlie Lieberman, Luke Osburn, and Brandon Svoboda. The Phantoms’ 2022-2023 season ended with a Clark Cup Championship in a playoff series victory over the Anderson Cup Champion Fargo Force. The Phantoms posted a 38-19-4-1 record during the 2022-2023 regular season, the second-best record of any Eastern Conference team. Youngstown’s powerplay ranked 10th&nbsp;in the league last year with a conversion rate of 19.9%. The Phantom’s penalty kill completed the regular season 5th&nbsp;in the USHL with a success rate of 80.8%. Youngstown will conclude play at the 2023 USHL Fall Classic tomorrow evening in a 4:30pm CT showdown against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.

The Storm will return home to the Viaero Center on Friday, September 29th&nbsp;following the official beginning of the sixty-two games regular season at the Fall Classic. Hamish Murray played outstanding golf to open his Husker career, ending the first 36 holes of the Bearcat Invitational in a tie for third individually after back-to-back rounds of 69 (-2) in Cincinnati on Monday.

Murray, a junior transfer from Sydney, Australia, closed the day at 138 (-4) on the par-71, 7,279-yard layout of the Coldstream Country Club. His opening round included five birdies against three bogeys, before his second round featured three birdies, 14 pars and just one bogey.

The NCAA Division II transfer from Cameron University in Oklahoma helped Nebraska rally from a slow start to climb to sixth in the 17-team field through two rounds. The Huskers ended the day 570 (+2) after rounds of 286 and 284.

In addition to the impressive play from Murray, Nebraska got a solid performance from Reed Malleck. The senior from York, Neb., closed the day at 143 (+1), including a second-round 69 (-2) to match Murray for NU's best round of the day.

Junior Harry Crockett (Oxted, England) added strong rounds of 71 and 73 to head to Tuesday's final round in a tie for 34th in the 90-player field at 144 (+2).

Fifth-year senior Will Marshall (Elburn, Ill.) ended the day in a tie for 51st at 147 (+5), including an opening-round 72 (+1) to provide one of Nebraska's four counting scores in the first round. Senior Gentry Scheve (Emporia, Kan.) rounded out the Husker contingent at 149 in a tie for 68th, including a second-round 73 that counted toward Nebraska's even-par team score for the round.

The hosts from Cincinnati own the top spot in the team standings at 557 (-11) heading to the final round. The Bearcats own a two-shot lead over Chattanooga at 559 (-9), while Louisville sits in third at 563 (-5).

Murray in title hunt at Bearcat Invitational

Michaela Vavrova and Miu Takahashi produced top-30 individual finishes to lead the Nebraska women's golf team to a tie for sixth in a loaded 15-team with an NCAA Regional feel at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich., on Monday.

Nebraska's tie for sixth came in a field that featured nine 2023 NCAA Regional teams along with 2023 conference runner-ups Northern Illinois (MAC) and Oakland (Horizon), along with Grand Valley State, which finished 11th at the 2023 NCAA Division II Championships.

Vavrova closed out the tournament in 28th after a final-round 74 (+2). The senior from Bojnice, Slovakia, ended with a 54-hole score of 223 (+7) as NU's top finisher for the second straight tournament to open the season.&nbsp;

Miu Takahashi added a top-30 finish by tying for 29th at 224 (+8) that included a final-round 76 (+4) on Monday. The junior from Nasu-machi, Japan, produced Nebraska's only round better than par during the tournament with a second-round 71 (-1) on the challenging, 6,370-yard, par-72 layout at Michigan State's Forest Akers West Golf Course Sunday.

Husker sophomore Kelli Ann Strand (Challis, Idaho) matched Takahashi with a 76 (+4) on Monday to finish in a tie for 32nd at 225 (+9) over three rounds.

True freshman Arden Louchheim (Park City, Utah) matched Vavrova for Nebraska's best individual round on Monday with a 74 (+2) to provide her second score of the weekend in the five-count-four scoring format for the Huskers. The three-time Utah high school champion opened the tournament with a first-round 73 on Sunday. She finished in a tie for 65th at 233 (+17) in an 84-player field.

Lena Hassert, who entered Monday's final round in a tie for 13th at 146 after back-to-back rounds of 73 on Sunday, battled her way to an 83 to finish in a tie for 49th at 229 (+13).

Purdue took home the team title by producing the best final-round score with a 284 (-4). The Boilermakers finished with a three-round total of 858 (-6) to knock off the hosts from Michigan State. The Spartans, who entered the final round with an eight-stroke lead over Purdue, finished 10 shots behind the Boilermakers at 868 (+4) after MSU settled for a 302 (+14) on Monday.

Ohio State took third at 879 (+15), while Maryland finished fourth at 881 (+17). Tennessee (884) rounded out the five teams ahead of the Huskers, while Kent State and Virginia Tech tied Nebraska for sixth at 888 (+24).

Nebraska finished two shots ahead of North Carolina (890), 11 shots ahead of Michigan (899) and 15 strokes ahead of Notre Dame (903).

Michigan State's Katie Lu captured medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 213 (-3) that included a final-round 74. She held off Purdue's Ashley Kozlowski, who fired a final-round 70, by one stroke at 214.&nbsp;

Huskers tie for sixth at Mary Fossum Invitational

Merritt Beason was named Big Ten Player of the Week and Harper Murray was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday, the conference office announced.&nbsp;

Beason led the Huskers to a 3-1 road win at No. 5 Stanford and a 3-1 home win against No. 21 Kentucky with 4.00 kills per set on a .354 hitting percentage to go with 1.88 digs per set. Beason had a season-high 17 kills and 10 digs and hit .438 in the win over Kentucky. Last Tuesday, the junior from Gardendale, Ala., had 15 kills and hit .273 at Stanford.&nbsp;

Zach Bade, 20, Forward, of Rosemount, Minnesota, joins the Storm for his final season of junior hockey after appearing in fifty-two games last year with the Waterloo Black Hawks. Bade netted nine goals and recorded nine assists for eighteen total points. He also skated in all three of Waterloo’s games in the 2023 Clark Cup Playoffs. He was selected 50th&nbsp;overall in the 4th&nbsp;round of the 2022 USHL Phase II Draft by the Black Hawks. Jake Delaney, 19, Defenseman, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, was selected 118th&nbsp;overall by the Storm in the 8th&nbsp;round of the 2023 USHL Phase II Draft. He skated in three games with the Storm during the 2023-2024 preseason. Delaney notched an assist for Tri-City in the team’s 4-2 victory over the Sioux Falls Stampede on September 8th, 2023. He skated in five games last season for the Janesville Jets (NAHL). Delaney scored one goal and recorded one assist for two total points. He also played in fifty games last season for the Chicago Fury U18 (AAA). Delaney scored twenty-one goals and notched twenty-five assists for forty-six total points. He also previously skated for the Midwest Knights 18U (AAA), and Chicago Bruins 15U (AA) organizations. Storm acquires Zach Bade from Black Hawks

Lena Hassert carded back-to-back rounds of 73 (+1) to end the first 36 holes of the Mary Fossum Invitational in a tie for 13th on Sunday in East Lansing, Mich.

Hassert, a junior from Kreuzau, Germany, led a solid showing by Nebraska's five-player lineup on the par-72, 6,370-yard layout at Forest Akers West Golf Course. Hassert's two-round total of 146 (+2) helped the Huskers to fifth place (290-298=588) in a strong 15-team field that featured nine 2023 NCAA Regional-qualifying teams entering Monday's final round.

The hosts from Michigan State opened up a solid lead at 566 (-10), eight strokes ahead of Purdue at 574 (-2). Ohio State enters the final round in third at 581 (+5), while Tennessee sits in fourth at 585 (+9) just three shots ahead of the Huskers.

Nebraska's Miu Takahashi (Nasu-machi, Japan) joined Hassert in the top 25 individually through 36 holes. The junior fired NU's best round of the day with a 71 (-1) in Sunday's second round, after opening with a 77. She enters the final round tied for 24th at 148 (+4).

Senior Michaela Vavrova (Bojnice, Slovakia) and sophomore Kelli Ann Strand (Challis, Idaho) sit in a tie for 32nd at 149 (+5), just one shot back of Takahashi. Strand and Vavrova carded matching rounds of 72 and 77 on Sunday.

True freshman Arden Louchheim (Park City, Utah) rounded out Nebraska's lineup, tying for 70th at 159 through 36 holes. Louchheim opened with a 73 (+1) to provide one of NU's scores in the five-count-four lineup in the opening round. The three-time Utah high school champion battled to an 86 in the second round.

Michigan State golfers occupied the top three spots on the individual leaderboard at their home course, led by Katie Lu's 139 (-5) through two rounds. Lu, who posted rounds of 70 and 69, sits three shots ahead of teammates Leila Raines (73-69) and Brooke Biermann (71-71) who sit in a tie for second at 142 (-2).&nbsp;

Purdue's Kan Bunnabodee (72-71) and Ohio State's Kary Hollenbaugh (71-72) round out the top five individuals in a tie for fourth at 143 (-1).&nbsp;

The No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team defeated No. 21 Kentucky, 3-1 (25-14, 25-22, 23-25, 25-21) on Sunday night in front of 8,531 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.&nbsp;

Nebraska (9-0) finished non-conference play without a loss for the first time since 2016 and only the second time since 2008.&nbsp;

The Huskers hit .338, while the Wildcats hit .243. Nebraska had the edge in kills (62-53), blocks (9-7) and digs (61-48). Each team had four service aces, while the Huskers committed eight fewer errors.&nbsp;

Merritt Beason and Harper Murray each finished with 17 kills and 10 digs. Beason hit .438, and Murray hit .308. Ally Batenhorst totaled 12 kills, and Andi Jackson had 10 kills and three blocks with a .500 hitting percentage. Bekka Allick added four kills and a match-high six blocks.&nbsp;

Bergen Reilly put up a career-high 46 assists and 12 digs. Lexi Rodriguez had a season-high 18 digs with six set assists. Maisie Boesiger had a career-high six digs.&nbsp;

Kentucky fell to 2-6 on the season with five losses to top 20 teams. Reagan Rutherford had 19 kills and hit .372 for the Wildcats.&nbsp;

The Tri-City Storm posted a 4-0 road shutout of the Omaha Lancers Wednesday night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena. Cameron Korpi was perfect in net, turning away each of the Lancer’s 29 shots on goal during the contest. Nolan Roed, Nick Peluso, August Falloon, and Easton Pace each netted a goal for the Storm in the win. Tri-City returns home on Saturday night for a final exhibition game against the Lancers. Puck drop for Saturday’s home game at the Viaero Center is scheduled for 6:05pm CT.

Nolan Roed scored ten seconds into Wednesday’s opening period to give the Storm a 1-0 lead in the matchup. Trevor Connelly recorded an assist on the play. Nick Peluso netted his second goal of the preseason less than five minutes later to give the Storm a two-goal advantage. Trevor Connelly also notched the lone assist on the scoring play. August Falloon netted his first goal of the preseason with less than two minutes to play in Wednesday’s 1st&nbsp;period to put the Storm ahead by three goals. Owen Beckner recorded an assist on the play. Tri-City outshot Omaha 11-10 in the 1st&nbsp;period, and carried a 3-0 lead into the 2nd&nbsp;period.

Easton Pace netted his first goal of the preseason at 3:23 of the middle period to increase Tri-City’s lead to four goals. Cameron Briere notched an assist on the scoring play. Pace’s scoring play was the lone goal of the 2nd&nbsp;period, and the final goal of the matchup. The Storm heavily outshot the Lancers by a 20-9 margin in the middle period.

Omaha outshot Tri-City 10-9 during Wednesday’s 3rd&nbsp;period, but was outshot 40-29 overall during the rivalry game. The Storm’s powerplay finished the game 0/2, and the Tri-City penalty kill was 1/1 on the night.

Cameron Korpi recorded his first win of the preseason in net for the Storm in a 29-save-on-29-shot-performance. Mikhail Yegorov dropped the game in goal for the Lancers after making 8 saves on 11 shots in the 1st&nbsp;period. Jack Olson finished the game in net for Omaha, and made 28 saves on 29 shots.

The Nebraska soccer team (6-1-1) opens Big Ten play this weekend when it hosts Wisconsin (5-1-2) on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7:05 p.m. (CT).

Merritt Beason led the Big Red with 15 kills, while Harper Murray put down 12 kills on .417 hitting with four blocks and three ace serves. Andi Jackson tallied eight kills on .462 hitting, and Bekka Allick chipped in seven kills on .500 hitting with a career-high eight blocks. Lindsay Krause recorded seven kills.&nbsp;

Murray earned a back-row kill after Stanford went into the net to make it 8-7 Huskers. The Cardinal regained a 13-10 lead after a pair of Husker errors, but a kill by Allick and back-to-back aces by Murray off the top of the net made it 15-14 Huskers at the media timeout. Beason and Allick blocked a Stanford attack to make it 16-14 Big Red, but Stanford scored six of the next nine points to regain a 20-19 lead. The teams traded sideouts to a 21-21 tie, and a Stanford attacking error was followed by an Allick kill that made it 23-21. NU earned set point at 24-22 with a block by Allick and Murray, and Beason put the set away at 25-23 with a kill.&nbsp;Set 2: The Huskers got off to a 7-2 start with seven kills on seven swings. Krause and Beason each had two, and Murray, Allick and Jackson each had one. An ace by Beason made it 9-3 Huskers, and NU built the lead to 12-5 after &nbsp;a kill by Murray. Two more kills by Murray kept the lead at seven, 14-7. Stanford got two kills in a row to cut it to 15-10, but Jackson pounded a kill and Stanford hit wide to put NU back up by seven, 17-10. Back-to-back Stanford aces trimmed NU's lead to four, 17-13, but the Cardinal committed a service error after a Husker timeout. Murray tallied another kill and Stanford hit long for a 20-13 Husker lead. Murray unleashed two more kills to make it 22-14, and Allick and Reilly teamed up for a block to go up 23-15. Beason's seventh kill made it 24-15 and the Huskers won 25-16. NU hit .696 in the set with 17 kills and one error on 23 attacks.&nbsp;Set 3: Stanford took a 9-6 lead before a service error, a block by Murray, Allick and Beason, and a hitting error tied the score at 9-9. Beason on the slide made it 10-9 Huskers, but Stanford took a 15-14 lead into the media timeout. Reilly and Allick posted kills out of the break to put the Huskers in front, 16-15, but the Cardinal got three kills in a row and a block to go up 20-17, and Stanford went on to win 25-19.&nbsp;Set 4: Kills by Allick and Beason helped NU to a 4-2 lead, but Stanford answered to go up 6-5. Murray's 10th kill and Beason's 11th put the Huskers on top, 9-7. Beason tallied three more kills and Krause added one as NU took a 15-12 lead into the media timeout. Allick and Reilly combined for a block, and Nebraska's back row specialists Choboy and Rodriguez hustled down a ball that led to a Murray kill and a 19-15 Husker lead. A Stanford back-row attack and an ensuing hitting error gave the Huskers a 21-15 advantage as Stanford called timeout. Beason had a kill and Murray served an ace for a 23-16 lead, and Allick and Krause combined for a block and match point at 24-18. The Cardinal scored three in a row to get within 24-21, but Jackson put the match away at 25-21. &nbsp;&nbsp;Up Next: The Huskers are off until Sunday when they host No. 21 Kentucky at 6:30 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.&nbsp;
