
Delmar K. Attebery, of North Platte, Nebfaska passed away with his family by his side on July 3, 2021, at the North Platte Care Center at the age of 88.
Delmar was born to Dorl and Lila Attebery on January 2, 1933, at North Platte where he grew up. In 1950, while in high school, Del hired on as a clerk with the Union Pacific Railroad. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1951.
Delmar joined the U.S. Army in 1953 and served overseas. Following his honorable discharge in '55, he returned home and to his job on the railroad. Delmar married LaRae Brandt on February 3, 1958, in North Platte where they made their home.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, P.R. Halligan Post #163 American Legion, V.F.W. Post #1504 and Eagles Aires #2839 where he also served as president. Delmar loved his family and sports. He coached girls softball, umpired and refereed high school sports, played town team baseball, and was a huge fan of North Platte Community College athletics and Husker volleyball and baseball. If he wasn't participating in sports, he was watching them, college or high school were his favorites.

Delmar was preceded in death by his parents, Dorl and Lila, and sister, Sharon Attebery.
He is survived by his wife, LaRae, and their children, Gary (Roxanne) Attebery and Kris Attebery, all of North Platte, NE; brother, Jerry (Mary Claire) Attebery, of Stockton, CA; brother-in-law, Randy (Sherry) Brandt, of North Platte, NE; sister-in-law, Maris (Frank) Aldrich, of Helena, MT; niece, Tammy (Mike) Buntjer; nephews, Rod (Shelley) Attebery and Rod (Jen) Brandt; as well as many extended family members.
Cremation was chosen. The memorial book may be signed Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in North Platte, NE, which is in charge of arrangements. Graveside service with military honors will be 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021, in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.
