Lincoln County Commissioners to Hold Budget Hearing, Adopt 2026-27 Budget Monday

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will hold its regular meeting Monday, Sept. 21, followed by a public hearing on the proposed 2026/2027 fiscal year county budget and consideration of the final budget and tax request.

The regular meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Lincoln County Courthouse. The Board of Equalization will convene at 9:15 a.m. to consider property tax-related matters.

The commissioners' regular agenda includes approval of minutes from the Sept. 14 meeting, a public comment period, claims and treasurer's receipts, and a right-of-way application submitted by Great Plains Communications LLC. The board also will receive and order filed fee reports submitted by the Register of Deeds and County Sheriff.

During the Board of Equalization meeting, commissioners will consider minutes from the Sept. 14 meeting, public comments, certificates of correction and refund submitted by the County Assessor, and a motor vehicle tax exemption application submitted by the County Treasurer.

The commissioners will recess for the Board of Equalization meeting before reconvening as the Board of Commissioners.

At 11 a.m., the county will hold a public hearing to receive comments on the proposed 2026/2027 fiscal year Lincoln County budget.

Following the budget hearing, the commissioners will consider adopting the county budget message included in the budget document, Resolution No. 2026-30 approving the 2026/2027 fiscal year county budget, and Resolution No. 2026-31 setting the final tax request at a different amount than the prior year's tax request.

The budget hearing and subsequent budget adoption meeting will take place in the Commissioners Room at the Lincoln County Courthouse. The budget adoption meeting will begin immediately following the conclusion of the public hearing.
