NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-On Tuesday, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department with funding from the U.S. Marshal’s Service initiated a compliance operation for all Sex Offenders within Lincoln County.
Initially, twelve two-person teams of Sheriff’s Deputies and North Platte Police Officers responded to around ninety residences in North Platte, NE. Additionally, Sheriff’s Deputies will continue in-home visits to every residence in Lincoln County a Sex Offender is reported to live.
The goal of the operation is to assure all Sex Offenders in Lincoln County are providing accurate and up-to-date information. Intentional acts of non-compliance have led to one arrest, and several others are currently under investigation.
At least ten Sex Offenders were ordered to immediately update minor information or be arrested, and all complied.
