NORTH PLATTE, NEB. - Summer heat making a late round in August as the surrounding region is in a heat advisor. According to the National Weather Service, the following counties are in a heat advisory: Lincoln, Keith, Logan, Custer, Arthur, McPherson, Perkins, Chase, Hayes, and Frontier.
Temperatures can reach in anywhere from 100 to 105 degrees during the heat wave according to the National Weather Service. The advisory is in effect until 10 pm central/9 pm mountain time on Wednesday.
Hot temperatures mixed with humidity can cause for potential danger heat illnesses to occur. Stay hydrated during this time and also to stay in a cool area. Also wear sunscreen when outside in the heat.
