Raymond “Doc” E. Fisher, age 83, of Indianola, NE passed away on January 23, 2024 in Lincoln, NE.

Doc was born February 26, 1940 in Danbury, NE to parents Ora W. and Bessie M. (Webster) Fisher. Doc was one of five siblings who attended Red Willow Consolidated Schools before attending McCook Community College for one year. Doc enlisted in the United States Army in 1962. He also served in the National Guard until his Honorable Discharge in 1968.

On May 31, 1964, Doc married the love of his life, Patsy A. (Lauer) Fisher in McCook, NE. The couple made their home in rural Red Willow County and were blessed with four children. The family began a lifelong career in agriculture. Outside of farming, Doc enjoyed bowling, boating and square dancing with Patsy. He was a member of the Lutheran faith. In 2008, Doc was inducted into the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the 1958 Red Willow Football Team and Red Willow Basketball Team, 1958 and 1959.

Doc was preceded in death by his parents; wife Patsy Fisher; brothers, Gayle Tines and Cliff Randel; brother in law, Don Sughroue; sister in law, Eileen Randel; and son in law, Benjamin Torres.

Those left to celebrate his life include his children, Eric (Tracey) Fisher, Indianola, NE, Jason (Jodie) Fisher of Ravenna, NE, Lori Fisher of Lincoln, NE and Brenda (Clint) Cain of Kansas City, MO; brothers, Denzel (Susan) Puelz of Lincoln, NE and Larry (Charlotte) Fisher of North Platte, NE; sister, Loretta “Jean” Sughroue of Cambridge, NE; sisters in law, Patty Tines of Gretna, NE and Diane Randel of Shenandoah, IA; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.
