Buffalo County authorities have made an arrest in connection with the bomb threat at the courthouse.
BCSO says 44-year-old transient Steven Lamar was arrested on suspicion of threatening the use of explosives and theft by unlawful taking.
Lamar was arrested in Kearney at around 1:45 p.m. on Thursday by officers with the Kearney Police Department.
BCSO says the investigation is ongoing.

KEARNEY, Neb.-The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bomb threat that was called into the courthouse in Kearney.
According to BCSO, at approximately 8:45 AM on January 7, Buffalo County authorities received a 911 report from a citizen that suggested a person or persons unknown to them may have placed a bomb at the Buffalo County courthouse. The alleged threat was non-specific in nature as to the type of device, location or time, or reason.
In an abundance of public safety precaution, BCSO the Buffalo County Courthouse was evacuated and searched. Nothing unusual was located.
BCSO says the courthouse was closed for just over 2 hours.
Assisting deputies at the scene were members of the Kearney Police Department, Kearney Volunteer Fire Department and Buffalo County Emergency Management.

The investigation continues.
