
Leroy Wayne Adams, longtime resident of Chase County, Nebraska passed away Saturday evening, January 30, 2021 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska. Leroy was 89 years of age.
Leroy was bon on November 2, 1931 at Champion, Nebraska to Price P. and Louise W. (Kirkpatrick) Adams. As a young man, he grew up and attended school locally. Leroy was inducted into the U.S. Army on May 14, 1952 and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on April 2, 1954 and returned to Southwest Nebraska.
Leroy was employed by the City of Imperial, Nebraska, where he made his home. He later became the Post Master of the Champion community, a position he held for many years until retirement. Leroy enjoyed arrowhead hunting, rattle snake hunting, coin collecting, and riding his motorcycle in his younger days,
Leroy is survived by his best friend, Glenda Lattimer of Imperial, Nebraska; Glenda's daughter, Dorothy Lattimer (Dee Dumlap) of Imperial, Nebraska; Glenda's granddaughters, Julie Pflum (Rob) of Lamar, Nebraska and Jennifer Struckmeyer (Del) of Holyoke, Colorado; and Glenda's grandson, Joe Quintana of Norcatur, Kansas; and Glenda's great-grandchildren meagan, Oaklee, Camron, Ryker, Brandon, and Austen.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Price & Louise Adams.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. MST at the United Methodist Church of Imperial, Nebraska with pastor Debra Copple officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Chase Cemetery in rural Chase County, Nebraska.
There will be no visitation. Leroy's wishes were for cremation.
