Community Connections youth programs to host sign-up event

News Release Community Connections 

NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-Community Connections Lincoln County will host a sign-up event for its Assets Team, Impact Team, Mentoring, and Lincoln County Youth Leaders on September 17th. The event will start at 4:00 p.m. and run until 6:00 p.m. in The Platte River Mall parking lot. The sign-up event will offer parents and students the opportunity to learn more about Community Connections youth programs, complete the application for their program, and obtain materials relevant for the 2020-21 youth program season.

Each student who attends the sign-up event and completes an application will receive a free large pizza voucher from Domino’s pizza and a popcorn goody bag.

Lincoln County Youth Leaders is a leadership and substance abuse prevention program for students in grades 6th – 12th. Impact Team is for 5th and 6th graders in connection with the mentoring program and focuses on social and emotional skills as well as school success. Assets is a program that utilizes the 40 Developmental Assets to build positive life experiences and qualities for success. The Assets Team is for students in grades 6-8th. Your student may sign up for more than one program. The Mentoring Program is for students in grades K-7th. Students are carefully matched with an adult mentor, and together they participate in several Mentoring activities through the month, as well as, activities on their own.
