Broken Bow Defeats Ogallala 9-4 at B6 Area Seniors District Tournament Day 3

McCook, Nebr - The #2 Ogallala was defeated by the #6 Broken Bow in the winners bracket 9-4 in day 3 of the B6 American Legion Seniors Tournament. For Ogallala they will play Holdrege tomorrow at 5 pm MST in an elimination game.  Pregame coverage on Flatrock 100.7 will air at 4:50 pm MST. Listen Online at www.Flatrock1007.com .  

Broken Bow, who was the visiting team in today's contest would strike first in the top half of the 1st inning on a Brice Chaplin RBI single. Broken Bow almost went up 2-0 in the top of the 1st but Ogallala first basemen Colton Knispel sent a laser home to gun out Broken Bow's Caden Holm. Broken Bow would again add another run in the top half of the 3rd inning extending their lead 2-0.

Ogallala would fight back on their own in the bottom half of the third inning. Ogallala's Ian Shaw hit a double into center field which would score Michael Redden. Aydan Halligan would score as well when Broken Bow pitcher Max Dension balked.

Broken Bow would go on a tear adding 7 runs to their lead while keeping Ogallala off the board. The bottom of the half, Ogallala had a late push that was unfortunately was not enough as they would fall 9-4.

Shaw would get the start for Ogallala as he went 5 innings, striking out three. Jessie Ortega and Max Mueller also saw action on the mound. Broken Bow's Dension would throw 5 innings striking out 10 batters. Hastings College pitcher Caden Holm would finish the last two innings for Broken Bow striking out three.

#2 Ogallala will take on Holdrege tomorrow at 5pm MST. Broken Bow will have a day off before they play in the B6 American Legion Seniors Tournament Championship game on Tuesday at 4:30 MST.
