
Roberta Gay Ash, age 69, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2021 at Community Memorial Health System in Blair, Nebraska. She was born on October 23, 1951 in Sargent, Nebraska to Jack & Mary (Plock) Brass. After high school, Gay went on to marry Jim Ash on April 21, 1973. Jim & Gay Ash have three wonderful daughters, Jacki, Jayme, and Jillian.
Gay loved many things in life: her grandkids, sewing, drinking Coke, making grandma bread, bowling, golfing, gambling, and delivering mail. Gay also babysat for many years. She was active on the Sargent Women's Action Team, enjoyed being in the town's play, and was in the multi-award winning group, The Snoop Sisters.
Gay is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters Jacki Ash (Chris Beran), Jayme (Nathan) Hawk, and Jillian (Brandon) Ingraham; her seven grandkids, Rileigh, Mace, Brennan, and Hayes Beran, Harper, and Hudson Hawk, and Claire Ingraham; as well as her sisters Brenda Keefe and LuAnn Lewis.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Gay's Life will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Sargent Community Center in Sargent, Nebraska at 10:30 a.m., with lunch to follow. There will be a private burial at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Sargent Women's Action Team or Mt. Hope Cemetery.
