From April 19 to April 23, the North Platte Police Department participated in the “Drug Impaired Driving” enforcement grant, in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Officers involved logged 100 overtime hours on North Platte public streets.
A total of 83 traffic contacts were made. A total of 21 citations were issued. Six citations were issued for speeding violations and six citations were issued for traffic signal violations. Two citations were issued for driving under suspension. One citation was issued for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Five total arrests were made for driving under the influence — four for driving under the influence of alcohol and one for driving under the influence of drugs. Five fugitive arrests were made on outstanding warrants. One felony arrest was made for possession of methamphetamine.
