Sherman Daniel Miller was welcomed home on September 08, 2023, at the age of 75 in North Platte, Nebraska. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting memories that will forever be cherished by those whose lives he blessed.
Born on February 12, 1948, in Gentry County, Missouri, Sherman was the son of Sherman John and Della Marie (David) Miller and spent his formative years in Missouri Valley, Iowa, where he would go on to graduate from Missouri Valley High School in 1967.
Sherman was hired on with Chicago and North Western Transportation Company in 1974. Then in 1995, he was transferred to the Union Pacific Railroad in North Platte, Nebraska, where he retired in 2008 after 34 years.
He shared over 40 years of happiness with his cherished wife, Terri (Hulsebus) Miller, coming together as one on August 20, 1983. Together, they raised two children: Daniel and Kristin.
Sherman found joy in volunteering with the American Red Cross and later with the Salvation Army Food Pantry. He was an active member within the North Platte Berean Church. He enjoyed camping with his wife Terri, fishing, and spending time playing horseshoes with friends.
Sherman is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman John Miller and Della (David) Miller; His sisters, Betty Joann (Robert) Jenson; Claudean (Harold) Jenson; Mary Ann (Jay) Brown; Helen Blunt. His father-in-law Forrest Hulsebus and his mother-in-law Donna (Rodasky) Hulsebus.
He is survived by his wife, Terri Miller; his son Daniel Miller, daughter-in-law (Brittany) and three grandchildren (Bentley, Della, and Hudson) of Gulf Breeze, Florida; his daughter Kristin Eschen, son-in-law (Larry) and three grandsons (Curtis, Cole, and Corbyn) of Holdrege, Nebraska and mother-in-law, Arlene Hulsebus, of Mondamin, Iowa. Along with other family and friends.
Sherman will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, and selflessness. He was a pillar of strength for his friends and family. He had a heart that knew no bounds and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on September 13th at 9:00am-6:00pm with family present from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. Additionally, a celebration
of life to honor Sherman will be held on September 14 th at 10:00am at the North Platte Berean Church with a luncheon to follow thereafter.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Sherman, we take solace in knowing that he has found eternal peace and happiness in the loving arms of the Heavenly Father. We will remember him not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles of gratitude for the blessings he brought into our lives.
