NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A North Platte man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly pulled a knife during an argument and made threats.
According to police, at around 1:10 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of North Dewey St. It was reported that a male subject had been involved in an argument and brandished a knife.
Officers arrived and contact with the alleged victim. Officers also located the suspect, Donald McDonald, 61, nearby.
The victim told officers he and McDonald had been "exchanging words" when the victim got into their vehicle and attempted to leave.
Police said the victim reported that McDonald then pulled a knife and began walking toward the vehicle. As he got closer, the victim told police McDonald raised the knife in the air as if he were going to stab someone.
Fearing McDonald was going to stab him through the open window, the victim accelerated and fled the area.
Police said as officers approached McDonald, he was observed dropping a knife on the ground.
Following further investigation, officers determined there was probable cause to arrest McDonald on suspicion of terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
McDonald was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office assisted with the incident.
