North Platte City Council to Consider Rezoning, Paving Districts and Lottery Consent at Upcoming Meeting

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (May 19, 2025) — The North Platte City Council will meet Tuesday evening in the City Hall Council Chambers to address a range of items, including rezoning requests, paving projects, and financial resolutions.

Among consent agenda items, the council will vote on the mayor’s reappointment of Bill McGahan to the North Platte Housing Authority Board and authorize the mayor to approve the addition of Cody Keno Lottery at the new McCabe’s Pub & Lounge, located at 402 North Dewey Street.

The regular agenda includes the third reading and potential adoption of Ordinance No. 4207, which would vacate an alley in the 400 block between East 2nd and East 3rd streets while maintaining it as an access and utility easement.

Council members will also consider the second readings of Ordinance No. 4209 to rezone property at 3001 West 9th Street from B-2 Highway Commercial to R-3 Dwelling District, and Ordinance No. 4210 to rezone property at 2401 East Philip Avenue for mobile home park and industrial uses.

Additional items include third readings and possible adoption of Ordinances No. 4205 and 4206, creating Paving Districts No. 840 and No. 842 along sections of Francis Street.

Financial matters include approval of a resolution designating FNBO as a warrant lender and executing a Warrant Purchase Agreement under terms of Ordinance No. 3874. Another resolution would authorize the issuance of one warrant for $385,758.96 to Level, LLC and 40 warrants totaling $13.67 million to NebraskaLand Bank to cover approved claims.
