Mary Delores (Vieyra) Shaw, age 68, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away December 8, 2020 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.
Mary was born on April 4, 1952 in North Platte, Nebraska to Raymond L. and Mary M. (Martinez) Vieyra. She grew up and attended North Platte Public Schools graduating from North Platte High School with the Class of 1970. She moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where she worked at AC Nelson. She met Douglas Shaw and the two were united in marriage August 12, 1972 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Platte. The couple lived in North Platte where Mary worked at Safeplay, Mode O Day, Shopko, Sixth Street Grocery, and settled at the Wal Mart Distribution Center.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially passing on family stories to her grandkids and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and always made sure everyone had what they wanted to eat. She loved to surprise others but hated being surprised, always giving of herself to others.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas of North Platte; three children, Lucrecia (Leonard Lunkwitz) Egner, Latonya (Michael) Wyatt, and Damien Shaw (Alyssa Smith) all of North Platte; a sister, Patsy (Tim) Dilley of North Platte; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary; step-mother, Vera; brothers, Johnny Ray (Joanne), Marcello (Stella); and a grandson, Ezekial Shaw.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Platte, Nebraska at 10 a.m. with Father Josh Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxewll, Nebraska. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Services will be livestreamed on the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those who are not able to attend. Visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, Nebraska, which is in care of arrangements.
