LINCOLN, Neb.-The Administrative Services Major for the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP), Major Russell Stanczyk, will retire on July 31, 2020. Stanczyk has served the citizens of Nebraska with NSP for nearly 34 years.
“It has been a pleasure to serve the people of Nebraska throughout my career,” said Major Stanczyk. “As I depart the agency, it gives me pride to see the men and women of the State Patrol continuing that mission as troopers and in civilian capacities. NSP is a talented team and I’ve been honored to be a part of it.”
Major Stanczyk, 56, began his career with NSP in 1986, as part of Camp 32. Throughout his career, he has worked in many areas of NSP, including the Patrol Division, the Police Service Dog Division, SWAT, Internal Affairs, and Administrative Services. Stanczyk was promoted to the rank of Major in command of Field Services in 2008 before transitioning to Administrative Services Major in 2015. Stanczyk served as Acting Superintendent for several months in 2017.
“Major Stanczyk has been a stalwart leader for the Nebraska State Patrol for many years,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “His dedication to public safety has positively affected countless people throughout his career. That impact will be felt for years to come through the excellent example he set for our troopers who continue that work. We thank him for his service and congratulate him on his exemplary career.”
Stanczyk is a 2001 graduate of the 204th Session of the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Virginia.
