Lexington Man Arrested and Charged with Murder

Lexington, Neb, - A Lexington man has been arrested and charged with first degree homicide.

According to the Lexington Police Department (LPD), around 10:45pm on Tuesday evening, LPD officers were dispatched to the Cypress Lane area in Lexington for a verbal altercation.

Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the caller and observed a silver two door vehicle stalled in the front yard of the home.  Preliminary investigation showed it was determined there was an adult male subject inside of the vehicle and that he was deceased.

LPD states officers also observed numerous bullet holes in the windshield and front area of the vehicle. The Lexington Police Department Investigators were then called out to process the scene. Officers and Investigators located physical evidence at the scene as well as conducted follow up interviews with witnesses.

A 33-year-old Lexington man identified as Aristh D. Rodriguez Linares was arrested and booked into the Dawson County Jail on suspicion of First-Degree Murder, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, and Discharging a Firearm into a Vehicle or Person.

The Lexington Police Department was assisted on scene by the Dawson County Sheriff's Office, the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office and the South-Central Area Law Enforcement Services. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week. The name of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.

This is an on-going investigation and will be conducted by the Lexington Police Department.
