Alfredo Leon, age 50, of Kearney, Nebraska died as the result of an automobile accident on Monday, January 18, 2021.
Alfredo was born in Mexico on September 23, 1970 to Anselmo and Austreberta (Benitez) Leon. He grew up and attended school in North Platte, Nebraska and later worked for Hiatt Construction.
On April 26, 1992, Alfredo married Lisa Sellers in North Platte, Nebraska. They had to daughters, Leslie and Vanessa, and later divorced. Alfredo later adopted Victoria Bliven.
Alfredo loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, fishing and camping, and was proud to be called Grandpa. He was a good son to his mom and always looked after her. Alfredo will be greatly missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anselmo; his brother, Francisco 'Pancho' Leon; a brother-in-law, Fernando Velazques, Sr; and a nephew, Frenando, Jr.
Survivors include his mother, Berta Leon of North Platte, Nebraska; daughters, Leslie (Josh) Eskew and Vanessa Leon of Brule, Nebraska and Victoria Bliven of Elwood, Nebraska; sisters Lidia (Saul) Roman, Alicia (David) Monares, and Minerva (Michael) Sellers, all of North Platte, Nebraksa; grandchildren, Lilli, Ali, Bri, Duane and Braxton; as well as many other family members.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Platte, Nebraska. Burial will follow in the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in North Platte, which is in charge of arrangements.
