Several Students from Adams Middle School selected to participate in the "Singing Youth of Nebraska"

Several students from Adams Middle School auditioned for and were selected to participate in the semi-annual “Singing Youth of Nebraska” Honor Choir, sponsored by the Nebraska Choral Directors Association. Almost 300 students in grades 7-8-9 auditioned. This event will be held in Kearney on January 27, 2024. Students will rehearse choral music throughout the day with a nationally known choral director, and will present a concert in the afternoon.

Selected students are: Amelia Bruck, Keirra Forden, Lydia Jenny, Cameron Bertschinger, Jarek Guenthner, Laci North, Taylor Race, Clark Odle , Kadia Lleras, Ezri Bay and Kamryn Thompson. 

The Nebraska Choral Directors Association was founded in 1962, just 3 years after our parent organization, the American Choral Directors Association. NCDA is a non-profit professional organization whose membership is composed of choral musicians from schools, colleges, universities, churches, community and professional groups. As a chapter of the national organization, NCDA members are among 18,000 directors representing more than one million singers across the United States.

Lydia Jenny, Adams Middle School 8th Grader, auditioned for and was selected to participate in the Midwest American Choral Directors Association annual honor choir This event will be held in Omaha February 8-10, 2024. Students will rehearse choral music throughout the day with a nationally known choral director, and will present a concert in the afternoon.

Over 250 students from 11 different states sent in audition materials.
