
Leslie "Scott" Ward, age 91, of Gothenburg, Nebraska died on August 17, 2020 at his home in Gothenburg, Nebraska.
He was born on November 7, 1928 in Gothenburg, Nebraska the son of Ned and Anna (Miller) Ward. Scott grew up in Gothenburg and attended Gothenburg schools. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. Scott married Mary H. Ostendorf on January 5, 1952 at Lexington, Nebraska. They had three children: Bill, Jim and Sherry. Scott worked for many years as a mechanic at Co-Op. He spend many hours in his vegetable garden and took pride in his straight rows.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ward of Gothenburg, NE; his daughter, Sherry (Norman) Davis of Gothenburg, NE; two sons, Bill (Gayla) Ward of North Platte, NE and Jim (Teri) Ward of Kearney, NE; a sister, Ella Mae (Glenn) Schulze of Norton, KS; a brother, John (Karen) Ward of Roseville, CA; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Scot was preceded in death by his parents Ned and Anna; and his brothers, Don and Fred Ward.
Private Graveside Services will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.
