CURTIS, Neb.-A McCook man will spend several decades in prison for possession of drugs in a home where a Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture student was found dead, in Curtis.
On Wednesday, Maxwell Allen, 24, was sentenced in Frontier County District Court to 25 to 30 years in prison for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and 30 to 40 years for possession of Fentanyl with the intent to distribute.
Allen was arrested June 16 on charges including distribution of a controlled substance after Frontier County deputies and other first-responders were called to a home and found the body of Jamie Spratlen, 22, of Lincoln. Allen was at the home.
Spratlen was in her second year of veterinary studies at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.
Allen's sentences will be served consecutively, or at the same time.
Numerous charges against Allen were dropped as part of a plea deal.
Allen was remanded to the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services to begin serving his sentences.
