North Platte Police Arrest 13 Impaired Drivers During Click It or Ticket Campaign

The North Platte Police Department participated in the “Click it or Ticket” high visibility, traffic, enforcement campaign running from May 15th through May 31st.

Department-wide, a total of 432 traffic contacts were made.

115 of the traffic contacts resulted in traffic charges or arrest.

- 12 drivers were arrested for DUI alcohol, one of which was a 4th offense, a Felony. One person charged with DUI Alcohol was additionally charged with Leaving the scene of an injury accident, a Class IIIA Felony.

- 1 driver was arrested for DUI-drugs.

- 26 drivers were charged with speeding.

- 46 were charged with Insurance/Registration violations.

- 17 were charged with stop sign/ traffic signal violations.

- 21 were charged with DUS/No Operator’s License. One driver was arrested for Felony Driving Under Suspension.

- 13 were charged with Improper turns.

- 1 driver was charged with Careless Driving

- 1 driver was charged with Willful Reckless Driving.

- 2 drivers were charged with Exhibition of Speed (Drag Racing).

- 3 drivers were charged with seatbelt violations.

- 3 people were charged with open containers of alcohol.

- 3 people were charged with Possession of marijuana.

In addition to traffic offenses, 24 people were contacted and arrested on fugitive warrants.

One person was charged with a Class I Misdemeanor weapon’s violation.

A post enforcement survey was conducted. Of 100 vehicles observed, 84% were wearing seatbelts.
