Motorists in North Platte should prepare for a temporary road closure as crews work to replace a manhole at the intersection of Bicentennial Avenue and East Philip Avenue.

According to the City of North Platte, Midlands Contracting will close the intersection beginning Thursday, June 25, 2026, and it will remain closed until the project is completed.

During construction, East Philip Avenue will be closed to traffic between Newberry Access Road and Bicentennial Avenue. The intersection of Bicentennial Avenue and East Philip Avenue will also be inaccessible.

Drivers will need to use alternate routes while work is underway. A detour will be in place around the construction zone, and motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour signs.

City officials are asking residents to use caution when traveling near the work area and to observe all traffic control devices for the safety of both motorists and construction crews.

The North Platte Sewer Department thanked the public in advance for its cooperation in helping make the project as safe and efficient as possible.

Anyone with questions about the project may contact the North Platte Sewer Department at 308-535-6740.
