Terry Jacobsen, age 72, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at home surrounded by his family and friends on Monday, October 26, 2020.
Terry was born in Grand Island, Nebraska to Cleve and Ellen Jacobsen on September 18, 1948. The family lived in Boelus, Nebraska, until 1957 when they moved to Littleton, Colorado. Terry graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1967 then went to work at the Army Ammunition Depot in North Denver, then Martin Marrietta in Littleton, Colorado. Terry later began his trucking career with Sullivan's out of Grand Island and eventually bought his own truck.
On April 24, 1970, Terry married Florence Vlach in Grand Island and with his trucking career, the couple lived in various places including Casper, Wyoming. Terry drove for Grand Island Moving and Storage and Sinclair before hiring on with Walmart. It was his job transfer that brought Terry and Florence to North Platte, Nebraska in 2007 and he continued driving for Walmart until retiring in 2015.
Terry enjoyed driving and seeing the country. He belonged to Eagles Aires #2839 and a car club in Wyoming. Terry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleve and Ellen, and his brother, Sidney.
Terry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Florence, of North Platte, Nebraska; children, Clinton Jacobsen, of Grand Island, Nebraska Gina McCoy, of Ravenna, Nebraska and Lindsey Jacobsen, of North Platte, Nebraska; grandchildren, Ryan, Summer and Chahlie McDonald and Justin and Skyler Jacobsen; great-grandchildren, Myla Markel and Kysar and Gabby Jacobsen; brother, Rodney Jacobsen, of Larkspur, Colorado; and other family.
