North Platte, Ne - As of 2pm CST, Interstate 80 eastbound has reopened. The Nebraska Department of Transportation closed the interstate Monday between Grand Island and Lexington, eventually closing it all the way to Ogallala Tuesday morning.
NDOT says I-80 is now OPEN in BOTH eastbound and westbound directions. Exercise extreme caution and adjust your driving speed accordingly. Highway 30 is open both directions.
One driver heading to Minnesota said he rolled into town around 4:30pm yesterday and decided to wait out the storm. Another truck driver from Utah told the POST he was heading eastbound on I-80 when the interstate closed in Ogallala but was told to drive to North Platte. He said he pulled off the interstate around 11:30 this morning.
