The Mid-Plains Community College Board of Governors will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, January 21, at 6:30 p.m. at North Platte Community College’s North Campus, located at 1101 Halligan Drive.
During the meeting, board members are scheduled to elect officers and review several routine consent items, including approval of minutes from the December 17 board work session, public hearing, and regular meeting, along with the December financial report.
Action items required by law include consideration of bills for the month of December totaling $2,544,559.03. Board members who received reimbursements during the month are expected to abstain from voting on those specific items.
The board will also consider bids for two campus-related projects. One involves the replacement of the Barrel Vault Roof on the Walsh-Brady Building in McCook, and the other pertains to security camera software for all Mid-Plains Community College campuses.
Reports on the agenda include a quarterly financial report and updates from the college president and cabinet.
An open forum will be held early in the meeting to allow comments from students, faculty, staff, members of the public, and board members. In accordance with Nebraska public meetings law, the board will not take immediate action on items raised during the open forum unless they already appear on the agenda.
The meeting is open to the public. Accommodations for individuals with disabilities are available by contacting the Mid-Plains Community College President’s Office at 308-535-3720. The Board of Governors reserves the right to enter closed session if necessary under Nebraska law.
