Kayla Ann Kemp, 37, of Tryon, passed away November 17, 2021 at her home.  She was born to James “Jim” and Rhonda “Rochelle” (Rodewald) Kemp on July 25, 1984 in North Platte. 
Kayla grew up in the country, north of Ringgold and attended Hall School through 6th grade.  Kayla then went to Tryon District #4 for 7th and 8th grades.  The family moved to Tryon in 1999 where she graduated from McPherson County High School in 2002.
Kayla worked at Shopko until the birth of her daughter Rachael Renee Kemp in 2008.  They moved to Tryon where they still resided.  Kayla went to work at Walmart around 2012 as a stocker, then she went to work in the bakery as cake decorator and was still doing this at the time of her death.
Kayla is preceded in death by her grandparents, Russell “Huck” and Louise Kemp, Leland Rodewald and Betty Rodewald Schroeder, Bill Hackney.
Kayla is survived by her daughter, Rachael; parents, Jim and Rochelle; sister, Toni (Jay) Powers; brother, Everett “Huck” Kemp; nieces, Brianna Powers, Katelyn Powers, Kinnley Powers; grandmother, Wilma Hackney; “other mom” Sharon Duval; numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorials are suggested in Kayla’s name for the education of her daughter Rachael.  Online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com.
Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 26, 2021 at McPherson County High School with Pastor Shannon Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.  Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  The service will be livestreamed via the Adams & Swanson Funeral Home Facebook page for those unable to attend.
