
Bessie A. Broeder, age 89, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on July 10, 2021 in North Platte surrounded by family.
She was born on December 20, 1931 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Edward and Silva (Kirkpatrick) Rodewald.
Bessie was raised on a cattle ranch in the Sandhills south of Seneca, Nebraska with her siblings Evelyn, Dae, Don, Grace and Leland. She attended on horseback, a country elementary school near the ranch. During her teen years, she lived in Seneca and attended the High School, graduating with the class of 1949.
She married Kenneth Broeder on August 24, 1950 at North Platte, Nebraska, and to this union 4 children were born.
Bessie enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, yearly trips to Alaska and also gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth Broeder in 1985 and Rusty Walker in 2008; parents, Edward & Silva Rodewald; sisters, Evelyn, Dae and Grace; brothers, Don and Leland; and her grandson, Ryne Hoaglund.
Survivors include her children, Richard Broeder (Karla Ducker), Judy (John) Kramer, Gary (Crystal) Broeder and Joni (Tom) Hoaglund; grandchildren, Ed Broeder, Sue Broeder, Kerissa (Jason) Steinshouer, Brent (Kim) Kramer, Kendy (Steve) Walker, Halee (Greg) Lovvorn, Kale (Cam) Broeder, Lacee Broeder (Andy Bebernes), Margaux Hoaglund (Mathew Pagano), Madalyn Hoaglund, Levi Hoaglund and Cherish Hoaglund; 24 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, NEbraska with Chaplain Ned Cooper officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 12 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm with family receiving friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte. Burial will be in the North Platte City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Seneca Cemetery.
