Jason Glen Malcom, 49, of Cozad, Nebraska, died March 6, 2024 in Gothenburg, NE.
Jason Glen Malcom was born July 24th, 1974, in Anchorage, AK to Dallas and Jeanne Malcom. Jason, often referred to as “Newt” or “JR” by close friends and family, attended high school in Cozad, Nebraska. He enjoyed playing sports. In his early years he spent early summer mornings and weekends practicing and competing with the Cozad swim team. Throughout junior high and high school he participated in football, wrestling and track. In addition to sports, he was also part of the National Honor Society. Jason graduated with the class of 1993. He went on to make his living in the construction industry, working with concrete, doing fine carpentry, cabinet building, and woodworking. In 2007, he welcomed his twins, Larkyn and Maddux. He enjoyed attending his kids' functions and loved to tell you all about their activities and accomplishments. He was a proud daddy! Jason also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, grilling/smoking and cooking in the kitchen.
Jason is survived by his children Larkyn and Maddux Malcom of Cozad, parents Jeanne Malcom and Jim Metzger of Cozad, brother Dain (Becky) Malcom, sister Amanda (Casey) Oswald of Tampa, Florida; nephew Ethan Malcom of Kearney, niece Addison Barningham of Tampa, Florida; uncle Mitch Helmuth of Cozad and numerous cousins.
Jason was proceeded in death by his son, Brody Michael Malcom, father, Dallas Malcom, Grandparents, Paul (Bub) Helmuth and Geraldine (Gerry) Vokal, Glenn and Vera (mama) Malcom, several aunts and uncles on both sides and many beloved pets.
Service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Suicide Prevention or Mental Health organization of donor's choice.
