The skies are calling! The Platte Valley Tailwinds Festival is back for its second year at the Cozad Airport, and it’s bigger and better than ever. Mark your calendars for a weekend filled with high-flying excitement, mouth-watering food, and toe-tapping tunes from June 14th to June 16th. This year’s festival promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for the entire family.
Friday, June 14th: Kick-Off to the Clouds
Start your day watching a breathtaking Hot Air Balloon Flight at 6:00am (weather permitting). As the sun sets, the festivities take off with a Social Cocktail Hour at 5:30pm, followed by a night of live music from The SweetWater Band from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Indulge in a delicious Steak Dinner and Burger Cookout from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Car enthusiasts, get ready to shine at the Car Cruise Night! Line up at 6:45pm for a 7:00pm takeoff. Don’t miss the magical Hot Air Balloon Glow at dusk, weather permitting, to cap off the evening.
Saturday, June 15th: A Day Packed with Fun
Early risers can once again enjoy the serene Hot Air Balloon Flight at 6:00am. The gates open at 11:00am for a day full of activities. Explore the Car Show, watch an Airplane Fly-in, browse through Retail & Craft Vendors, and let the kids have a blast with various activities. Satisfy your hunger at the Food Trucks & Beer Garden. The music continues with Full Denim Jacket from 5:00pm to 7:45pm, followed by the James Lee Band from 8:00pm to 11:00pm. Another Hot Air Balloon Glow will light up the night, weather permitting.
Sunday, June 16th: A Special Tribute to Fathers
Celebrate Father's Day watching an early morning Hot Air Balloon Flight at 6:00am. From 10:00am to 1:00pm, treat Dad to a luxurious Father’s Day Champagne Brunch.
Extras and Excitement
Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides will also be available, with the schedule to be announced. On-site camping is available all weekend for those who want to stay close to the action. Presale tickets are available now, so secure your spot for this high-flying adventure. We’re also looking for volunteers to help make this event a soaring success.
