NORTH PLATTE — The 100 Women Who Care, a North Platte organization, celebrated its fifth anniversary Tuesday at the Prairie Arts Center.

100 Women Who Care empowers local nonprofits with unrestricted financial grants, helping them to make a difference in the local community.

The concept of 100 Women Who Care is simple: the group meets four times a year to hear presentations from three local nonprofit organizations. Each attendee at the meeting donates $100 dollars. Attendees vote on their favorite presentation, and the winning non-profit organization receives the pooled funds from the meeting.

Over the past five years, a total of $137,400 in unrestricted grants has been awarded to local nonprofit organizations. All awards are routed through Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation.

100 Women Who Care-North Platte meets quarterly on the last Tuesday of April, July, October and January. All are invited to attend the next meeting on April 25th, 2023 at 5:30 pm at the Prairie Arts Center.
