Bonnie C. Schneider, of Grant and Paxton, Nebraska, passed on peacefully to eternal life on November 20, 2023, following a short illness.

She was 84 years old, born July 29, 1939, the daughter of the late Zelma (Oliphant) and Pat Thompson.

Bonnie was the kindest and nicest person you could ever have as a friend or relative, will be greatly missed and continue on in the memories of all who love her dearly. She attended grade school at District 23 in Perkins County, graduated from Paxton High School in 1957, and then the University of Denver in 1961. Bonnie met Gary D. Schneider in Arcadia, California, where they were married on April 21, 1962.

In March of 1965, they moved back to Nebraska to run the Thompson family farm in Paxton, where together they successfully operated Schneider Land and Cattle Company and enjoyed 53 years of marriage. Bonnie also had a great career as a Lab Technician and worked at several hospitals and clinics in the area.

She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and belonged to the United Women in Faith organization of the United Methodist Church. Bonnie and Gary moved to Bay City, Michigan in 2012, and she stayed there after Gary passed away in 2015 until 2021, then returned home to her roots in Nebraska and lived at Westview Retirement Community in Grant.

To know Bonnie was to love her! She was a 'one of a kind gal' who made everyone smile while living her life to the fullest. She was very fond of sweets, even though she was sweet enough without them, and never served a meal that didn't include a delicious dessert.

Bonnie enjoyed reading, shopping, playing bridge and cards, having a Crown & 7, and traveling to unique places, including Europe, Hawaii, Canada, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. She especially liked getting together with her wonderful and loving family and spending time with lots of special friends she made wherever she went.

Along with Gary and her parents, Bonnie also joins in heaven her step-father, Ray Thompson; step-brothers, Rex and Jack (Macusa) Thompson; sister-in-law, Glenda Chandler; and brother-in-law, Rocky Schneider.

Bonnie will be fondly remembered by her stepdaughters, Kim Schneider and Billie Jo (James) Traxler; grandchildren, Kara Schneider, John Henry Traxler, and Jeremiah (Bree) Traxler; sister-in-law, Carol Thompson; nieces, Jenny and Amy; nephews, Jack Jr., Ray and Robert Thompson; niece, LeAnn (John) Peterson; cousin, Lendon (Leone) Thompson; sons, Landry and Lindley (Molly) Thompson; and grandsons, Sumner and Wells; cousins, Judy (Bill) Eakins, and Vickie (Jim) Wertz; cousins, Donna (Mike) Mayer, Pam (Larry) Seiler, Jan (Harlan) Rahn, and Gailya (Tim) Cooper; and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Westview Retirement Community in Grant or the United Methodist Church in Paxton in Bonnie's memory. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
