
Kathleen LeNie (Wells) Wentink, age 90, formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska, died in North Platte, Nebraska on December 1, 2020.
Kathleen was born to William Robert and rose (Hultquist) Wells on October 25, 1930 in Clay County, near Sutton, Nebraska. She attended school at District #9 through the 8th grade, then went on to graduated from Sutton High School in 1947, and from the Lincoln School of Commerce in 1950. She later received her Backelor's Degree from Doan College-Lincoln in 1990.
On april 5, 1950, Kathleen married Gayle Wentink in the Methodist Church at Saronville, NE. The couple lived in Lincoln, Nebraska where Kathleen worked for the USDA Soil Conservation Service until retiring in 1992. She then volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital for several years and the Veteran's Hospital for 10 years.
Kathleen attended St. Mark's United Methodist Church and was a member of the Association of Retired Federal Employees.s
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rose Wells; her daughter, Kathy Kujawa; her brother, Burton Wells; and a sister-in-law, Teresa Wells.
Survivors include her husband, Gayle, of North Platte, Nebraska; sons Michael (Cathi) Wentink of North Platte, Nebraska and Jerry Wentink of Colorado; grandsons paul (Amanda) Wentink and Eric Wentink, all of Colorado, and Christopher and Nicholas Kujawa of Phoenix, Arizona; her twin brother, Kenneth Wells of Charlottesville, Virginia; as well as two great-granddaughters, a great-grandson, her nephew, niece and many other family members.
Cremation was chosen. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska with Chaplain Gary Smith officiating.
