Larry David Fisher, 79, of North Platte, passed away February 5, 2024 at UNMC in Omaha. He was born on October 5, 1944 to Ora and Bessie (Webster) Fisher in Cambridge.
Larry graduated from Indianola High School with the class of 1962 and then attended Milford Vo-Tech for automotive technology. Larry married Charlotte Burton on December 27, 1964 in Bartley, and they lived in North Platte. They moved to McCook where Larry worked for Bob Cobb Chevy until 1974 and then moved back to North Platte. Larry hired on at Union Pacific Railroad in 1978 with Maintenance of Way and also taught at Mid Plains Community College in engine repair for many years.
Larry and Charlotte were tour guides across the country on many trips with Diamond Tours and Elite Tours. He loved his grandchildren very much and opened “Grandpa Day Care” where he cooked for the first time. Larry hunted and fished in his younger years. He was a very good mechanic, always helping friends and family with their vehicles. Larry was always helping family with any project they had going on. Larry was a member of Church of Christ and was very active in helping the church with many projects. He served 25 years in the Army Reserves.
Survivors include wife, Charlotte of North Platte; sons, Lanny Fisher of North Platte, Kurt (Cara) Fisher of Juanita, Jeff (Holly) Fisher of Salida, CO; grandchildren, Cassie (Sam) Verga of New Jersey, Jordan Fisher of Iowa City, IA, Mercedes (Michael) Lindgren of Lincoln, Alexis (Kaden Evans) Fisher of Lincoln, Jenna Fisher of Juanita, Tatum Fisher of Missoula, MT, Hudson Fisher of Salida, CO, Cooper Fisher of Salida, CO; great grandchildren, Sonny, Andrew, and Luke; siblings, Jean Sughroue of Cambridge, Denny (Susan) Peltz of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Patsy Tines of Gretna; numerous other family members and many friends.
Preceding Larry in death were his parents, Ora and Bessie; brothers, Gale Tines, Raymond (Patsy) Fisher.

Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Church of Christ with Pastor Ned Cooper officiating. Inurnment will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held noon-7:00, with family present 5:00-7:00, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
