Kathleen Marie "Kate" Easton passed away at the North Platte Care Center on August 6, 2023, at the age of 76.
Kathleen was born in North Platte to Charles Jr. and Margaret (Drost)
Easton on October 21, 1946. She grew up in North Platte and graduated
from N.P.H.S. in 1965.
During high school Kathleen worked at the Frontier Resort then following graduation she worked in the typing pool at Hansen & Fuenning Accounting and later was a receptionist for the Salvation Army until retiring.
Kathleen was a member of Episcopal Church of Our Savior, Episcopal
Ladies Group and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Family was important to Kathleen. When she became a mother she took
time off from work to raise her children and be a homemaker. Then when her parents needed help, she was their caregiver. Kathleen enjoyed
planning family gatherings, cooking and taking family trips in the RV
when her kids were young. She was a kind, loving and giving woman.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and infant siblings,
Charles and Susan.
Survivors include her three children, Shane Gosnell (Jamaica Riley) and
Jessica Gosnell of North Platte and Stephanie (Joshua) Fricke of
Oakland, CA; granddaughters, Ula Fricke and Fiona Gosnell; her sisters,
Mary (Daniel) Agler and Beth (Mark) Schanou, brother, Chuck Easton, and special friends, Judy Foran and Laura Stewart, all of North Platte; as
well as many other family members.
In keeping with Kathleen's wishes, private family services will be held
in the North Platte Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at
