News Release NPPSD

To support our staff, administration, students, health care providers, and community, NPPS will provide an extended break for the week of November 23, 2020.  All schools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, extending the Thanksgiving break for one full week.  This closure does include all activities and events that were scheduled for the week.  Schools will resume on Monday, November 30, 2020, at regularly scheduled times.

Over the past several weeks, North Platte Public Schools and the North Platte community have seen an uptick in COVID-19 quarantines and positive cases.   This, coupled with Governor Pete Ricketts' latest ask to protect our hospitals, NPPS has followed suit in closing our schools to allow for a deep cleaning of all facilities and a much needed mental health break for staff and students. "NPPS is completing its 13th week of in-person and remote learning for all students. The teachers, principals, and support staff have been superheroes during these challenging times. The district continuously monitors the challenges, stresses, and emotional well-being of our staff," stated Dr. Ron Hanson, NPPS, Superintendent.
