Jacqueline Sachtjen, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed way at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln on August 18, 2021, at the age of 71.
Jacqueline was born to Clarence and Lila (Humphrey) Arensdorf in Sutherland on July 7, 1950. She grew up in Sutherland where she graduated with the Class of '68.
On November 3, 1968, Jacqueline married Wendell Sachtjen at the Methodist Church in Sutherland. They lived in Sutherland and she worked at TRW in Ogallala. In 1971, they moved to Palmer so Jacqueline worked in Grand Island at K-Mart for 25 years, Nebraska Truck Center as a claims and warranty specialist for eight years, and eventually at Bosselman Truck Stop until retiring. She and Wendell moved to North Platte in 2018.
Jacqueline was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, both in Palmer. She liked doing crafts and sewing and enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers and roses. Jacqueline loved her family and loved being a grandma.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Arensdorf, and sister, Judith Arensdorf.
Jacqueline leaves behind her husband, Wendell, and son, Tracy (Michelle) Sachtjen, of North Platte; her mother, Lila Arensdorf, of Sutherland; sisters, Sheryl Arensdorf, of Sutherland, and Julie (Pat) Hoaglund, of Brady; grandsons, Jared, Wyatt and Samuel; and many other relatives.
Cremation was chosen. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating. Inurnment will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or prior to the service at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. Memorials suggested to the North Platte Fire and Rescue or the donor's choice.
