Donnalea Sue Harrison, 59, passed away at the Community Hospital of McCook on April 21, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1964 in Oberlin, Kansas to Stephen and LaDonna Harrison. She attended grade school at Beaver Valley and Edison, graduating from Beaver Valley in 1983. Donnalea continued her education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, graduating with a degree in Graphic Art in 1988. After graduation, she opened a print shop business in Oberlin. She later added a flower show to her business. She sponsored several music artists at the county fair.
After her health would no longer allow her to work, you would see her going down the highway with her orange trailer selling Kettle corn at the fairs and city celebrations. She also ran a firecrackers stand every year. Donnalea was a crafter and went to many craft shows. She also liked sports and played volleyball and basketball as well as pitching for a women’s softball team. Collecting sports cards was another of her hobbies. She loved to draw.
Donnalea loved to spoil her three nephews: Aaron, Jimmy, and Stephen. She would take them on trips to Colorado, South Dakota to Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills, and to Silver Dollar City. She enjoyed their dogs, Hershey and Tank.
She was preceded in by death by her grandparents, Cloyce and Bertha Springer and Stephen and Lela Harrison; her uncles, Marvin Springer, Loyal (Linda) Springer, Lyle Springer, and Ronald Harrison; an aunt, Faye Colby; and two cousins, Deb Tino and Shela Ritter.
Donnalea is survived by her parents, Stephen and Ladonna Harrison of Lebanon, Nebraska; brother, Doug (Deanna) Harrison of McCook, Nebraska; and three nephews, Aaron Harrison, Jim Harrison, Stephen Harrison; and great-nephew, Syrus, all of McCook; her uncle, Marlin Springer of Danbury, Nebraska; and her aunt, Marilyn Barnett of Trenton, Nebraska.
Funeral Service are planned for Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel with DeWayne Jackson and Robby Holliday officiating. Interment will be in the Hamburg Cemetery near Lebanon, NE. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, at the Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel from noon until 7:00 PM. Family will be present to greet friend from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Memorials may be left in Donnalea's name to the Kidney Foundation. Friends may leave online condolences at hermmannfh.com.
