
Helen Marie Haas, age 88, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away from COVID-19 complications at Great Plains Health on October 10, 2020.
Helen was born at home in South Dakota to Henry and Ruth (Robertson) Pavlik on April 8, 1932. She grew up in Nebraska, in the Crookston and Valentine areas, and graduated from Crookston High School. Helen then attended Chadron State College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught for at a country school in South Dakota for a short time before getting married.
Helen married Ivan Oran Boyer and they lived in Mullen, Nebraska with their three children, Ruth, Charles and Dean. Helen worked as a cashier for different businesses in Mullen.
After Ivan died, Helen married Lyle Haas and they made their home in
Valentine. She enjoyed spending time with her sons, Darwin, Rodney and Craig. After Lyle died and her health declined, Helen moved to North
Platte, Nebraska.
Helen enjoyed working with the public and going to the Rose Bud Casino.
Along with her husbands, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Charles Boyer; parents, Henry and Ruth Pavlik; brothers, Henry and Robert Pavlik; and sisters, Eleanor Judy, Bonnie Boyer and Viola Reiser.
She is survived by her children, Ruth (Terry) Harp, of North Platte,
Dean (Barbara) Boyer, of Percell, OK, Darwin (Diane) Haas and Rodney
Haas, all of Kearney, and Craig Haas, of Missouri; grandchildren,
Michele, Melissa, Linsei and Lacelei; great-grandchildren; her sister,
Anna (Jerry) Turgeon, of Elkhorn; many nieces and nephews; as well as
other family.
Cremation was chosen and graveside services will be at a later date.
