Peggy Jean Land was surrounded by her family at Great Plains Health when she passed away on May 25, 2024, at age 93.
Peggy, the daughter of John and Dorothy Godeker, was born October 10, 1930, in Sutherland where she grew up and attended school. She worked at the Condenser Plant in town, then got married.
On March 2, 1950, Peggy was united in marriage to Fred Land at Julesburg, CO. They settled on a ranch north of Hershey where they worked and raised a family. Peggy loved the country life and all it had to offer with nature, wildlife, and of course being in and around the Birdwood Creek.
Peggy collected angels and figurines and enjoyed reading and doing embroidery work. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and Birdwood Busy Bee Club. Peggy especially loved her family and extended family and leaves them all with great memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Fred Land, Jr., siblings, Marjorie Rothemeyer and John Godeker, Jr., and son-in-law, George Loving, Jr.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Victoria Loving of North Platte and brother, James Godeker of Grand Island; grandchildren, Eric Land of Clifton, CO, and Becky Phillips (Michael) of North Platte; step grandchildren, George and Brian Loving; several great-grandchildren; and other family.
Services will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 7, at Odean Colonial Chapel.
