NebraskaLand University Welcomes Thirty-Seven Students

North Platte, NE- NebraskaLand University is proud to announce the acceptance of thirty-seven area high school seniors into its program. On Monday, November 6, 2023, these students will learn about strategies to pay for their college education without an unhealthy reliance on student loans.

The program, instructed by Ty Lucas, Executive Vice President Chief Lending Officer at NebraskaLand Bank, will provide students with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about their college financing. Students will learn about the true cost of borrowing and the potential future financial obligations that come with graduating with student loans. The difference between private loans, federal loans, and other types of financial aid will also be discussed.

NebraskaLand University is committed to helping students make informed financial decisions in their future. With the help of Senior and Executive Officers at NebraskaLand Bank at NebraskaLand Bank, these high school seniors will be well-equipped to make the best decisions for their future.

NebraskaLand University consists of six courses covering important topics such as budgeting, savings, credit, loans, career and wealth development, and identity theft protection. Upon completion of the program and meeting all requirements, graduates will be awarded a $250.00 academic scholarship. Additionally, graduates compete in an essay contest for a chance to win a greater scholarship. The first-place winner will receive $1,000, the second-place winner $750, and the third-place winner $500.

Students accepted include Taehya Baca, Jensen Becher, Ellie Blakely, Ceiden Childears, Maci Cox, Karlee Denny, Ava Dimas, Krysta Eckhoff, Lance Gifford, Parker Ginn, Chloe Guo, Hailey Guthrie, James Heirigs, Enlai Hou, Kaylee King, Will Krondak, William Martinez, Eva McCreery, Brena Melton, Jarrett Miles, Haily Miller, Layton Moss, Alayna Nielsen, Landon O’Brien, Gracie Persinger, Boston Pettera, Helana Pettit, Andy Prokop, Adrienna Quiroga, Brylie Robinson, Gracie Seamann, Rian Teets, Billy Tolstedt, Alie Vaughn, Vanessa Wood, and Jordan Yonkers.

These thirty-seven students, represent diverse backgrounds and a myriad of interests. From National Honor Society, Dance, Cheer, Athletics, Pre Med Club, Rodeo, FBLA, FFA, Student Council, Student Government, Journalism, Boy Scouts, Skills USA, Band, Choirs, Quiz Bowl, and Theatre, these remarkable students possess the potential to truly make a difference in the community.
