    David Todd "Dave" Fjelseth, of Indianola, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Alma, Nebraska.   He was born on May 5, 1951, to Clarion Elwyn "Clare" and Dorothy Evelyn "Tomi" (Thompson) Fjelseth at Camp Gordon in Augusta, Georgia.  His family resided in South Dakota until moving to Gillette, Wyoming when Dave was in High School.

    Dave excelled as a football player in high school and graduated from Campbell County High School in Gillette, Wyoming in 1969.

    Dave married Karen K Carson in 1972 (they later divorced) to this union two daughters, Tia Dawn and Sarah Anne, were born.

    Dave resided in Gillette, working in the oil and coal industry, until he relocated to Colorado in 1995.

    Dave met the love of his life, Carol Blackman, in Colorado in 1996.  Together they owned and managed two restaurants in Colorado until moving to Carol's hometown of Indianola, Nebraska to purchase a local legend, The Rocket Inn.  Together with special friends and family, Kathy Osterman, Scott Kasch, Matt Dack, and Nick Dunn - Dave and Carol ran The Rocket Inn for 21 years, until retirement.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepsons, Greg Blackman and Kevin Blackman; and his brother-in-law, Tom Stritt.

    He is survived by Carol Blackman; his brothers, Jeff (Sally) Fjelseth and Mark (Vicky) Fjelseth; his daughters, Tia Knapp (of Gillette, WY) and Sarah Joseph (of Loveland, CO); his grandchildren, Max Knapp, Mariah Knapp, Victor Blackman, Rohan Joseph, and Karuna Joseph; his mother-in-law, Alice Mae Stritt and other in-laws of the Stritt clan; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his beloved golden retrievers.

    A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Indianola, NE on May 5th (Dave's birthday) and ashes will be spread in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming in July, where he loved to go fly fishing.
