NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-The North Platte Police Department is investigating the death of a man at the Lincoln County Jail.
On July 5, 2020, at 8:34 p.m., the North Platte 911 Center received a call requesting an ambulance at the Lincoln County Detention Center, 302 North Jeffers Street.
North Platte Fire and Rescue were dispatched for a male subject reportedly having seizures in his cell. Police say, despite life-saving efforts by Lincoln County Correctional Staff and North Platte EMS, 35-year-old Leslie Reel was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is on-going and an autopsy is pending. The case will be presented to a Grand Jury, as is the case with all in-custody deaths.
The North Platte Police Department is investigating the incident.
