Corky Eugene Tyan, formerly of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away December 31st, 2020 near Indianola, Nebraska.
Corky was born January 31st, 1963 in North Platte, Nebraska to Edward 'Cork' and Cleo (Slater) Tyan. He was the oldest of five children born to this union.
Corky married Tami (Robinson) on August 1st, 1998 to this union six children were born. He spent most of his life enjoying his true passion, working in ranching and agriculture. He was well known for his handiness on the back of any horse he crawled on and his love for a good horse, and a few good dogs to call his own. In his younger years he won many belt buckles riding bulls and was an avid wild horse race participant with his brothers, proudly winning Cheyenne Frontier Days wild horse race in the 90’s and bringing home the ruby belt buckle.
Anyone that knew Corky well witnessed his free spirit and often childlike view of the world around him. For those that loved him they hope the sound of his signature laugh never fades away and that Corky has already been reunited with his best partner, Bear.
Corky is survived by his children Tierney Tyan of Omaha, Nebraska, Haley Tyan of Ashland, Nebraska, Brody Tyan of Hyannis, Nebraska, Trey Tyan, Teagan Tyan, and Raynee Tyan of Naples, Florida. Also surviving are two granddaughters Emersen Loupin, and Leightyn Loupin, of Ashland, Nebraska. Surviving siblings of Corky are Dusty Tyan of Frankewing, Tennessee, Tim and (Tracy) Tyan of Wallace, Nebraska, Tina Tyan of Sutherland, Nebraska, and Camie (Matt) Cox of Wauneta, Nebraska; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Corky was preceded in death by his father, Cork Tyan, and mother, Cleo Tyan; and his beloved nephew, Joshua Tyan.
There will be no services per Corky’s request. Upon cremation the children plan to take him to a few special places he loved and requested to make his final resting spot.
