Victoria Dian Haveriland (1939-2020)

Victoria Dian Haveriland, age 81, of Gothenburg, Nebraska died July 11, 2020 at Emerald Care in Cozad, Nebraska.

She was born on June 11, 1939 in Saint Louis, Missouri, daughter of Nicholas C. Waggoner and Edith Marian (Ball) Waggoner Strawn.  Victoria worked for many years as a police officer for the Orange County Police Department and for the California Highway Patrol.  She loved to ride her Harley and the freedom it offered her.  Victoria lived on a ranch near Dunning, Nebraska for a while.  She made her home in Gothenburg where she served on the Gothenburg Housing Authority Board.  She loved animals, especially horses and collected horse figurines.  She had a cat named Raider Girl whom she had named after her favorite football team, the Oakland Raiders.  She made friends with the squirrels in her community; she gave them all names and feed them off of her china dishes.

She was very giving and would do anything for anyone.  She moved into the Housing Authority for a number of years and her final home at Emerald Care in Cozad.

Survivors include her extended family in California and her community friends in Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Victoria was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Marian Strawn; her father, Nicholas C. Waggoner; her brother, Nicolas Clemence Waggoner, III; along with other extended family.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 Tenth Street in Gothenburg, Nebraska on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 0:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at the Gothenburg Cemetery on July 16, 202 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jon Mapa officiating.
