North Platte, NE — West Central District Health Department (WCDHD) has been selected as the national winner of the Promote Flourishing Award in the 2025 CredibleMind Mental Wellbeing Awards, recognizing the department’s commitment to strengthening overall wellbeing and building a culture where individuals, families, and communities can thrive.
The Promote Flourishing Award honors organizations that focus not only on preventing or reducing mental illness, but also on actively cultivating environments where people can thrive physically, emotionally, psychologically, and socially. WCDHD’s selection reflects its comprehensive approach to supporting mental wellbeing at both the organizational and community levels. WCDHD was recognized alongside distinguished achievement awardees from across the country, including Essex County, Norfolk Department of Public Health, and the South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.
“We are honored to receive this award,” said Meghan Trevino, Executive Director of the West Central District Health Department. “Promoting flourishing means creating the conditions, at work, at home, and in the community, where people feel supported, connected, and valued. Our team lives that commitment every day, and our community shows incredible strength when we come together for events that reduce stigma and bring mental health into the open. This recognition reflects the heart of our team and the dedication of our partners and residents in our communities.”
The CredibleMind Mental Wellbeing Awards celebrate organizations across three national categories: Promote Flourishing, Empowering Action Through Communication, and Reducing Stigma. Awardees demonstrate meaningful impact and innovation in advancing mental wellbeing and building resilient communities.
