
Delores Eileen (Risk) Spradlin, age 76, of North Platte, Nebraska, peacefully passed away June 28, 2021 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte with her loved ones at her side. She was born on September 23, 1944 to George and Eileen (Johnson) Risk of Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Columbus, Nebraska where she graduated high school, then went to attend college and wound up in California.
She was united in marriage to Bobby Ray Spradlin of Mt Vernon, Arkansas, January 23, 1971 in Palm Springs, California. After marriage, the couple lived in the area where they had their first two children and then moved to Arkansas where they had their third child, then to Nebraska where they had their fourth child, then returned to Arkansas in 1984. The couple divorced in 1989.
Shortly after, Delores returned to Nebraska briefly before deciding to finish college in Colorado where she remained to finish her career and retired. In 2018, she decided to move to North Platte, Nebraska where she spent her time gardening, hosting book club, volunteering at Buffalo Elementary, Salvation Army, and the Heritage Museum.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church and then later converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she has remained a devout member ever since. Notably taught primary to the children for over 20 years.
She is survived by four children, Lescley and Holmer Creutz of Idaho Falls, ID, Christopher and Marci Spradlin of North Platte, NE, Michael and Jennifer Spradlin of Centennial, CO, and Sarah and Jason Johannes of Hayes, KS; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany, Danielle, Jonathan, Joshua, Mickenzie, Dominic, Nicholas, Maleena, and Janell; two great-grandchildren, Chrysanthemum and Joseph; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Risk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Eileen Risk; and her three brothers; Dale, Kenneth, and Victor Risk.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., on July 2, 2021 and held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Jesse Dunn presiding. Burial will be at the Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte. Visitation will be from 3;00 pm to 8;00 pm Thursday, July the 1st at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte. Memorials are suggested to Saint Jude’s Children Research Hospital, Special Olympics, or the Shriners Hospitals. Special Olympics, or the Shiners Hospitals.
